The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) at the University of Florida (UF) was well represented at the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia, last week. The CALS ambassadors distributed Gator fans and informational brochures as well as took photos in the photo booth at the entrance of the University of Florida pavilion.
Charlotte Emerson, director of student development and recruitment for CALS, spoke about the role the ambassadors played at the expo.
“They are here as goodwill ambassadors for the University of Florida, particularly the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. They are also here to talk with prospective students who are interested in coming to the University of Florida and CALS in one of the 23 majors that we have in the college,” Emerson said. “So anything from animal science to wildlife ecology and conservation, they are basically experts in those areas to help students find their way to UF.”
The ambassadors serve for the entire school year and help promote the college at events all over the southeastern region of the United States.
