The 50th anniversary World Ag Expo is currently underway at the International Agri-Center in Tulare. There are more than 1400 exhibits, with 26 million square feet of exhibit space. Last year more than 106,340 people visited the expo. The event is the culmination of the hard work of 25 staff members and 1200 volunteers.
“It’s really exciting to be chairman for the 50th anniversary of the expo,” said 2017 World Ag Expo chairman Harry Peck. Peck said a lot has changed over the years. “When we moved from the original site at the fairgrounds, there were a lot of skeptics who said it would never work. And, here we are today.”
Peck spoke with AgNet Media broadcast news director Sabrina Hill. Hear the full interview here.
World Ag Expo will once again host school tours today. More than 2,500 students, ranging from 6th grade to college, will have the chance to meet with exhibitors and learn about career opportunities within the agriculture industry.
Live webcams of World Ag Expo’s show grounds, powered by HD Relay, can be viewed online at www.WorldAgExpo.org/live-webcams. Cameras offer views of activity on the grounds, including exhibitors, attendees and volunteers.
The expo runs through Thursday.
